LTC Photography Ltd has a purpose built studio and will provide a 2 hour photo shoot. We allocate 3 hours for the shoot which provides enough time to feed and settle the baby if necessary. Patience is the key with children and LTC Photography understands this implicitly.
Booking your Newborn Session
The best time to book your photography shoot is before your baby is due so that we can plan for your photo session. Don’t worry - I know babies don’t always want to adhere to our schedules, so I am quite flexible.
The best time to schedule your session is within the first seven days of your due date. For these first few days, baby is mostly sleepy and still has those squishy little feeties we all find so adorable. But don’t worry, if you can’t do it in this time, we can still get great shots, just baby will be a bit more squirmy, and less inclined to stay in a smushy little ball of cuteness.
Preparing for your Newborn Session
In order to get the best results for your session, preparation and timing is the key, I recommend feeding your baby whilst I set up.
Like the rest of us, babies likes to have a nap once they have a full tummy, and if you’re able to keep them awake a little longer than usual in the hour or so beforehand, all the better. As well as optimising the aww factor, the more baby can sleep through the session, the less stressful it will be for you and them.
All babies are different, and I’m very patient so don’t worry about rushing, it’s a given that it will be very stop and start. Relax and feel comfortable because you will be very tired after just having a baby. I plan for feeding and changing during the sessions, and I have been weed on more than I would care to admit!
The Newborn Session
Your session includes 2 hours of photography, however to make sure there is time for little breaks and costume changes, I schedule and extra hour.
I pride myself on my safe working practices so for all my sessions, we make sure the room is warmer than usual. I have costumes available for you to choose from, but ultimately, they are not full baby grows. This style of photography usually involves less clothing than normal and we do not want baby getting cold.
I also make sure that I use suitable lighting so we do not hurt your little one’s eyes. I am also trained in using safe baby posing for this style of photography. I’ll make sure that the poses I put your baby in are not harmful or uncomfortable.
Ultimately these are your memories, so any props or outfits you want to bring along and feature, we will work together with to get the results your looking for.
After your session
I will professionally edit your photographs and invite you to view the images in our comfortable viewing room. You will also get a 10 x 8” print with your package and a Facebook image.
If you require any more prints, please contact me for pricing.
